The Naraku 17/36 +31% Secondary Gear Kit is a performance secondary gear set designed for the final drive of scooters equipped with GY6 125cc to 150cc engines (e.g., Honda Ruckus GY6, Kymco, SYM, PGO). It replaces the OEM gears with a 17/36 ratio, resulting in a final drive ratio approximately 31% shorter than the original.
The secondary gear ratio—consisting of a 17-tooth pinion and a 36-tooth spur gear—determines the transmission of rotation between the CVT output shaft (rear clutch/converter) and the rear wheel. A shorter final drive ratio:
reduces wheel speed for the same engine speed,
increases traction at low and mid-range RPMs,
improves immediate acceleration,
makes acceleration more responsive in short bursts or urban riding.
This setting is useful on scooters:
used for urban/dynamic riding,
loaded (passenger, luggage),
on uphill terrain,
