The Taida 15/37 +20% Secondary Gear Kit is a high-performance secondary gear kit designed for the final drive of scooters equipped with GY6 125cc to 150cc engines (e.g., Honda Ruckus GY6, Kymco, Sym, PGO). It replaces the original secondary gears with a 15/37 set, resulting in a final drive ratio approximately 20% shorter than the OEM ratio.
The secondary gear consists of a 15-tooth pinion and a 37-tooth spur gear. This ratio acts as the final drive multiplier between the CVT output shaft (via the rear clutch/converter) and the rear wheel. A shorter ratio:
multiplies the torque applied to the rear wheel,
increases traction at low/mid-range RPMs,
improves throttle response.
This kit is often used to improve acceleration in urban or sporty driving, particularly useful for climbing hills or moving a loaded machine without excessive effort.
