The Taida 18/36 +35% Secondary Gear Kit is a high-performance secondary gear kit designed for the final drive of scooters equipped with GY6 125cc to 150cc engines (e.g., Honda Ruckus GY6, Kymco, SYM, PGO). It replaces the original gears with an 18/36 ratio, which equates to a final drive ratio approximately 35% shorter than the OEM ratio.
The secondary gear (pinion + sprocket) acts as the final drive between the CVT output shaft (via the rear clutch/converter) and the rear wheel. A shorter ratio means that at the same engine speed, the wheel rotates more slowly, but with more torque and traction available.
