Malossi MHR Team 2 Minarelli Ignition

It is capable of managing multiple curves simultaneously without needing to use any keys, with a simple click. It allows for shifting the selected curve by adjusting the OFFSET (+ or – 2°).

The new Malossi ignitions are a concentration of the highest technologies deployed in scooter competitions. The new internal rotor ignitions were designed to solve the technical limitation problems of original ignition systems: indeed, beyond 10,000 rpm, these are unable to ensure the necessary stability in terms of performance, causing significant, sometimes insurmountable, tuning problems for competition machines.

We have made the electronic control unit even more immune to interference by developing a microprocessor based on an 8-bit STM8 uP with a computing capacity exceeding 20 MIPS: this is to ensure significantly higher spark precision than the previous version!

The MHR Team II range features a non-remappable variable advance electronic control unit with 3 trimmers:

  • the first (MAPS) to determine the advance curve selection
  • the second (OFFSET) allows for shifting the selected curve by + or – 2°
  • the third (LIM), specifically indicated for 4-stroke engines, allows for varying the rev limiter intervention (from 11,500 to 14,300 rpm + limiter excluded)

In addition, it features 8 pre-installed curves which are categorized as:

  • 1 for 4T engines with variable advance
  • 6 for 2T engines with variable advance
  • 1 with fixed advance

We have also overhauled other fundamental components such as the high-tension coil, which is now capable of providing a maximum discharge voltage of >40 KV at normal engine rotation speeds of >3000 RPM and an extraordinary rise time @10bar > 1750 V/uS.
One of the most important new features is the new rotor-stator assembly, whose static component has been completely redesigned from both a mechanical and electronic profile!
