As is traditionally the case with Polini aluminum cylinders, this cylinder was manufactured by the excellent Gilardoni foundry, the largest in Italy. In addition to its very good manufacturing quality, this Polini Alu 70cc Piaggio cylinder head assembly is also quite efficient for a 70cc “Sport” range. Even though it is designed for intensive use, it is still much more torquey and more powerful than the original cylinder, especially in the mid and high revs. With the correct configuration (17.5mm/21mm carburetor and “Sport” exhaust) it can develop around 10/11 hp, with a top speed also increased because at a higher maximum engine speed than the original.
